The following are impressions the editor formed on the common themes of the assembled documents.

why the conflict? This is vital to our understanding of what the problems in the Holy Land stem from. As Pope Benedict has stated, To make a litany of symptoms without addressing the root cause is hardly helpful to either party.
a. Security for the State of Israel
b. A secure, viable State for the Palestinians
c. Just resolution of the refugee problem
d. An agreement on Jerusalem that protects religious freedom and other basic rights
e. Implementation of all relevant UN resolutions and other provisions of international law
f. Immediate need to alleviate the serious humanitarian and economic crisis in the Palestinian areas and to build a vibrant civil society
4. A return by occupation forces to their internationally recognized borders (est. pre-1967) can end this occupation which has led to so many other problems. This would create a breathing space and allow room for political and economic avenues to take hold and grow. This would be a significant first step in helping build a viable and strong Holy Land.
